25 Days of Cookies: I Said Yes Before I Knew What We Were Getting Into

When my friend, Renee, pitched me “25 Days of Cookies,” I didn’t hesitate. “Immediately yes,” I said, before my brain could remind me that December is already chaos and we’d just committed to baking and filming 25 different cookie recipes in one month.

But here’s the thing: sometimes the best ideas are the ones you say yes to before you can talk yourself out of them.

What We’re Actually Doing

The concept is simple (in theory): bake and share the recipe for 25 different cookies throughout December, leading up to Christmas. We’re not following a strict schedule, because it’d be impossible to bake a single batch of cookies every single day. So, some days it’s just a few cookies, other days we’re more ambitious. We’ve already knocked out our first three before December even started, and now we’re eyeing a 12-cookie marathon day. Are we in over our heads? Maybe. Are we doing it anyway? Absolutely.

Why This Feels Right

After our first real bake day, I’m feeling surprisingly confident. Not because we’re cookie geniuses (jury’s still out), but because this project hits everything I love:

1. Content creation that feels natural and fun

2. Cooking and baking with actual stakes and deadlines

3. Quality time with someone I genuinely enjoy collaborating with

4. A good challenge that keeps things interesting

We’re not trying to be perfect. We’re just showing up, experimenting with recipes, documenting what works (and what doesn’t), and seeing where this takes us.

What’s Next

Right now, we’re gearing up for that 12-cookie day. Wish us luck. We’ll need stamina, oven space, and probably more butter than any household should have on hand at once.

We’re not sure where this thing is going; maybe it’s just a fun December project, maybe it becomes something more. But that’s part of what makes it exciting. We said yes first and figured out the details later.

Stay tuned for cookie chaos, kitchen disasters, and hopefully some really delicious results.
